About the Founder

Dorcas Kelley, CPCC, PCC, CMC is a personal and business coach for high achievers who want to aggressively get beyond any obstacles and reach their goals. In the process, her clients develop greater clarity, focus, and an increased capacity for effective action.

Dorcas' driving passion and vision is to transform the world of coaching, one coach at a time, by helping each one discover their power and confidence as the leader of their coaching business. She is committed not only to the success of each individual coach, but also to the long-term flourishing of the industry.

The Book

To bring this vision to reality, Dorcas wrote "The Business of Coaching®" a book and workbook set that contains nearly all the information you need to start, grow, and manage a coaching business. This popular book, now in its fourth printing, is recommended or required by four US-based coaching schools.

The Classes

To bring this vital information to a wider audience, she started Business Catalyst InstituteTM, a virtual learning organization for entrepreneurs. She offers a wide range of accessible and affordable tele-courses focused on increasing small business success while maintaining integrity and authenticity.

Workshops and Presentations

As a popular and sought-after speaker and workshop leader, she travels the US and abroad to bring her unique blend of brains and heart to a wide range of audiences. At the 2002, 2005 and 2007 ICF Conferences, her passionate, practical and invigorating breakout sessions received consistently high praise and enthusiastic endorsement.

Consulting and Coaching

With over 20 years of consulting and coaching experience, Dorcas draws on a wealth of private and public sector expertise. Dorcas has always been a motivator of people and a model of high achievement for others, including her clients. She coaches entrepreneurs (including coaches, of course!), executives, business owners, and professionals to reach the next level of success in their business and personal lives.

A successful entrepreneur, she has owned her business as a consultant and coach since 1994. Prior to that, Dorcas worked for Hewlett-Packard Company as an internal consultant / coach, and Andersen Consulting.

In addition to being a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach and Certified Management Consultant, Dorcas’ credentials also include an MBA with High Honors from UC Los Angeles and a BA with Highest Honors in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara. She is a member of the International Coach Federation, having received her PCC designation through that organization, as well as being a past president for the Monterey Bay ICF chapter. She's been a Director on several non-profit Boards, served on multiple Advisory Boards, a member of the Institute of Management Consultants and the Junior League of San Jose.

Dorcas lives and thrives in Sunnyvale California, sharing her home with her large goofy canine companion Abby.
